Delicious Pumpkin Scones Recipe

These soft pumpkin scones taste great and are full of pumpkin flavour. It's so easy to make and tastes great for fall as a breakfast or dessert.

INGREDIENTS 

FOR THE SCONES: – 2 cups (250 grams) all-purpose flour spooned and leveled – ½ cup (100 grams) granulated sugar – 2 and ½ teaspoons baking powder – 1 and ½ teaspoons pumpkin pie spice – ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon – ½ teaspoon salt – 6 tablespoons (85 grams) cold unsalted butter , cubed into small piece – ⅓ cup (80 ml) cold heavy whipping cream – ½ cup (120 grams) pumpkin puree – 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

FOR THE MAPLE CINNAMON GLAZE: – 1 cup (120 grams) powdered sugar – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) pure maple syrup – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) milk use more as needed – ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Put parchment or silicone baking mat on a large baking sheet.Combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, ground cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Cut cold cubed butter into dry ingredients with a pastry cutter or fork until pea-sized crumbs form.

Mix heavy whipping cream, pumpkin puree, and vanilla extract in another bowl. Just combine wet and dry ingredients. It may crumble, so mix with your hands.

Form the dough into a ball and flatten it into a 7- to 8-inch, 3/4-inch circle on lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into 8 equal pieces and place them on the baking sheet with space between them.

Place scones on a baking sheet and freeze for 10 minutes. Set and cook scone tops after 18–22 minutes. Cool completely when removed from the oven.

Mix powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and ground cinnamon in a large bowl. The glaze can be thinned by adding 1/2 teaspoon of milk at a time. Glaze the scones and let them harden for 10–15 minutes before serving and enjoying.
